Draft for review. This was written to describe how Label Logic actually works, but it has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Have one read it before you rely on it.
This explains what Label Logic collects, why, and what we do with it. It is written to be read rather than to be impressive.
The short version
We collect what the software needs to work: your pricing setup, what your staff tagged and when, and enough about each tablet to keep it running. We never see your card details. We do not collect anything about the shoppers in your stores. We do not sell anything to anyone.
What we collect
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Account details Company name, your name, email address |
To create and bill the account, and to reach you about it |
| Staff records Name, role, store, tag color, PIN |
So staff can sign in and their work can be reported. PINs are stored only as a one-way hash — we cannot read them, and neither can anyone who obtains the database |
| Your pricing setup Categories, sizes, price points, barcodes |
It is the thing the software exists to manage |
| Production records What was tagged, by whom, when, at which store |
To produce your reports and bonus calculations |
| Device information Operating system version, browser engine, app version, screen size |
So we find out that a tablet update has broken something before you have to phone us about it |
What we do not collect
- Card numbers. Payment goes directly to Stripe. We receive only whether it succeeded, and the last four digits for your records.
- Anything about your shoppers. The app records items, not people.
- Location tracking. We know which store a tablet is registered to, because you told us. We do not track where anything physically is.
- Advertising or analytics trackers. This website has none.
Who else is involved
Running the service means using a few other companies. Each one only gets what it needs to do its job.
| Company | What for | What they get |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Database and hosting | Your account and production data |
| Stripe | Payments | Your billing details and card, direct from you |
| Cloudflare | This website | Standard web request logs |
| Google Workspace | Our email | Anything you email us |
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone else except where the law requires it.
Where it is kept
Your data is stored on servers in the United States, encrypted in transit and at rest.
When a tablet is working offline it also keeps a copy on the device so staff can carry on during an outage. That copy is excluded from device backups, and is erased when the tablet is unpaired.
How long we keep it
- While your account is open: for as long as you need it.
- After you cancel: 90 days, then deleted. Ask us sooner and we will delete it sooner.
- Billing records: kept longer where tax law requires it.
What you can ask for
Write to us and you can ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or its deletion. We will respond within 30 days. Deleting data that the software depends on may mean closing the account.
Keeping it safe
Every account is isolated at the database level, not just in the app — one customer's query cannot reach another's rows. Staff PINs are stored as one-way hashes. Admin access requires a live connection. A lost tablet can be cut off from your account console immediately.
No system is perfectly secure. If we ever have a breach affecting your data, we will tell you.
Children
Label Logic is a tool for businesses and is not intended for anyone under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will email you before it takes effect.
